Plating Maintenance TechnicianLocation:
Alajuela, Costa Rica
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform requirements of the process and preventive maintenance program as well as perform periodic routine and emergency maintenance on all plating equipment and peripheral systems. Assist the Wastewater Engineer in the maintenance and control of the wastewater treatment system to ensure environmental compliance..
KEY FUNCTIONS:
• Help maintain the plating preventive maintenance program to ensure that timely maintenance is performed on all plating and peripheral systems. This includes maintaining a spare parts inventory.
• Will assist in schedule, organize, and perform preventive maintenance to all equipment in the plating department. Oversee all maintenance performed by line operators, and ensure that maintenance is performed to its intent and on a timely basis.
• Support the plating department by performing emergency equipment repair to all plating equipment to reduce downtime.
• Follow the maintenance program for selective plating equipment and plating contacts and help maintain adequate supply of replacement parts.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in monitoring and maintaining the wastewater treatment system operation. Ensure that all waste BI-products are drummed, labeled, and properly stored as required by law.
• Fabricate any tooling and spare parts as needed.
• Any other job related duties as assigned by management.
• Complete pre-specified goals and projects in the time allocated for such completion.
• Will involve handling hazardous materials.
• Will assist in environmental policies & training for the plating facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Essential functions of the job include the ability to stand, lift and walk on a continual basis.
• Must be willing to work in a chemical environment.
• Must be able to work with heavy drums of chemicals with a drum dolly.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• BS in technical or science related field or degreed/certified maintenance technician
