Processing Engineer

Location: Penang, Malasyia

To support our Asia Pacific operations, we are now inviting ambitious and talented people to apply for the position of Processing Engineer.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an electronics processing engineer, preferably at a major contract manufacturer.
  • Good English in written and oral communication skills, and good computer skills
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the following: Surface mount soldering technology, Through hole soldering technology, IPC – Jedec Standards, Reflow oven profiling, Stencil design, Rework/touch up soldering, Pallets and fixtures, Pick and place machine use and/or programming
  • Ability to travel Asia Pacific countries to Customer locations without restriction.

Job summary:
• New Products:

  • Evaluate and provide feedback on footprint and stencil designs,
  • Develop thermal profiles to optimize processing parameters,
  • Generate reports documenting results and recommendations,
  • Develop rework procedures,
  • Define pick and place requirements,
  • Help define packaging requirements.

External Customer Support:

  • Interact directly with customers: Evaluate processing parameters (wave/convection reflow profiles, footprint/stencil designs, placement methods, etc) via e-mail/phone, Participate in conference calls, when necessary, visit customers and audit processes.
  • Perform processing analyses of customer issues: Match customer's thermal profile (wave and convection reflow) in an attempt to duplicate problem, Generate reports documenting results and recommendations.
