Regional Customer Quality Engineer
Location: Penang, Malaysia
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for managing key aspects of the customer quality relationship. Specifically, the Customer Quality Engineer will work with internal/external groups (manufacturing, engineering, internal quality, supplier quality, account management, applications engineering and sales) to drive customer concerns towards timely solutions.
To perform this job successfully the Customer Quality Engineer must be able to perform the below essential duties with minimal direction, relying on experience and judgment to plan and execute.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage assigned customer quality issues and ensure they are resolved in an efficient & timely manner.
2. Work with other departments to establish root cause & appropriate short/long term corrective actions.
3. Drive & follow up continuous improvement programs across areas of responsibility.
4. Provide guidelines or work instructions to sorting team of suspect goods.
5. Generate or complete 8D reports & customer SCAR.
6. Effectively communicate progress on all assigned customer quality issues with internal & external customers.
7. Provide recommendations or work around solutions to customers to keep their production line running in the face of a quality issue.
8. Support customer audit or visit at local manufacturing site.
9. Visit customer sites to assist field support personnel or with Sales as needed.
10. Provide backup within the Customer Quality Department.
11. Any other job related duties as requested by management.
