Software Architect

Location: New Albany, Indiana

Minimum Required Skills

• WPF/WinForms, ASP.NET, WCF, SQL Server

What you need for this position

• 8+ years of experience with Microsoft technologies such as C#, Visual Basic .NET, WinForms, WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, SQL Server
• Experience accessing, analyzing, and architecting applications using the full stack of Microsoft Technologies.
• Experience with design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, DI, IoC, Observer, Service Locator
• Objective-C/iOS experience a plus
• F5 LTM/ASM experience a plus

What you'll be doing

• Work in a fast paced, exciting, global development team, identify and solve high level software/systems related issues for a worldwide manufacturing company.
• Drive adoption of new technologies.
• Mentor and educate development team to ensure dept. wide acceptance and implementation of architecture and standards.
• Assist with implementation of Agile methodology across all teams and projects.
• Identify weak points of the system and find scalable solutions to solve those weak points.
• Define and implement 'Reference Architecture' for new initiatives.
• Define and implement 'Best Practice' development processes to support large scale application development initiatives and multiple projects (including / not limiting to object model definition, build process, configuration management).
• Build on all aspects of the current infrastructure/systems architecture.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from the design and architecture through development and unit testing.
• Document technical designs, using flow charts, data flow diagrams, database schemas, descriptive software component documentation, wireframes, etc. as required.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to senior and junior developers on project assignments.
• Work closely with project managers, technical leads, and end users to ensure that expectations are met.
• Help guide the technology direction.
• Develop software in a hands-on capacity by writing .NET source code (C#), WCF, WPF technology along with developing databases using Microsoft SQL Server, and integrating solutions with leading Microsoft server software platforms.
• Perform code review sessions with other developers and suggest improvements or alternate strategies when appropriate.
