Responsibilities include graphics creation, user interface design, content formatting, and front-end programming/development.
Web Graphic Design (Co-Op/Contractor)
Location: New Albany, Indiana
Samtec is currently seeking enthusiastic and innovative individuals for openings in Product Innovation and Development. Applicants must have strong business acumen, a technical propensity, and strong project management skills. These positions require an understanding of all aspects of the marketing mix as well as interrelated business functions; and the ability to understand the technical nature of our industry and spot new product opportunities and markets worth pursuing.
Skills/Abilities:
• Experience with web user interface design
• Concept development
• Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, & Javascript
• Application and user experience design
• Web multimedia knowledge
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Proficient on several design platforms (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS Max, Silverlight, Visual Studio, Flash, etc)
• Flexible – May be called upon to change designs often and on short notice
• Must be able to work well under pressure in lieu of tight deadlines and changing demands
• Not confined to computer programs - Ability to communicate design concepts by preparing sketches, storyboards, etc.
• Must be a team player
• Independent and driven - Must be able to work with a remote team
• Proficient with Mac and PC platforms
Responsibilities:
• Develop designs that effectively communicate the ideas being promoted by the web team
• Understand coding requirements for website, program, and application creation
• Work with programmers to create pages using HTML and GUI design software
• Turn mockups and wireframes into a working/active interface
• Participate in design concept, development, and site intent meetings
• Interact with web producers, developers, marketing, sales, and engineering
• Collecting/creating images and working with developers to convert them into a form that can be used
