Job Summary:
The Product Engineer designs and develops solutions within New Product or Sustaining Product Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Works directly with Marketing and Sales to review opportunities and develop engineering cost analyses based on Product Scopes
- Work directly with purchasing, quality, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, process engineering, electroplating, suppliers, and other necessary groups as a cross functional team to develop products/solutions
- Makes significant contributions to design, development, and validation of connector solutions (including but not limited to board, cable, power, high speed, and panel mount products)
- Works hands on to identify problems during new product development and/or when quality concerns arise
- Adhere to all corporate engineering standards including but not limited to documentation, file management, part modeling, part simulation
- Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Must be a self-starter with strong leadership
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills in relating to both internal and external customers
- Proficient is MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in electrical connector design, plastic injection molding, and progressive die stamping
- Experience in engineering design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc)
- Experience in simulation software (FEA, CFD/thermal modeling, etc) is preferred, but not required
- Willing to travel (including out of the US) for up to 4 weeks per year

This person will have full responsibility for the technical operations of our 7 Nissei molding lines. A person in this specialized role will maintain daily production processes, work directly with molding operators, the molding manager, and the engineering manager on debug, tooling, and injection molding processes. The Molding Technician will directly impact company profits by improving quality, design, and utilization in our insert molding business unit.
OBJECTIVE:
- Set up and maintain production of injection molding machines, dies, machinery, tooling, and processes.
PERFORMANCE:
- Significant experience with injection molding processes and tooling.
- Must have experience molding with liquid crystal polymers (LCPs)
- Preventative maintenance/Repair on machines, injection molding screw assemblies, molds, and chiller.
- Collaborate with engineering to enhance and debug processes, tooling, and new products
- Positive attitude and open mind to continuous improvement
- Ability to identify and communicate ideas and concerns that will improve cost and quality

This person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a $30M Electro-Plating Business Unit. The person successful in this role will lead continuous improvement efforts and identify ways to improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce scrap and gold usage.
The Plating Production Manager can expect to manage 22 plating lines utilizing reel-to-reel, barrel, and selective-cell technology, 4 supervising managers, and nearly 100 plating operators that produce approximately 1 billion plated pins per month. This is a highly visible role requiring decisions that have a global production impact. Growth opportunities are imminent as we expand plating operations in our China and Costa Rica facilities.
OBJECTIVE:
- Over the course of the first 12 months, develop a systematic approach for creating continuity between 12 hour shifts.
PERFORMANCE TASKS:
- Utilize management experience to mentor, develop, and provide feedback for plating supervisors and operators
- Proactively plan capacity and lead continuous improvement efforts
- Coordinate engineers, purchasing, test lab, production, and maintenance to troubleshot issues and drive change

- Design, debug, and new product development for vertical design molds, dies, machinery, tooling, and processes.

- Significant experience with continuous reel-to-reel process used for high volume precision molding. This process includes pre-stamping, vision systems, vertical molding and post-stamping.
- Must have experience molding with liquid crystal polymers (LCPs)
