The associate will be responsible for leading Samtec's Mold Design Group and will be actively involved in $4 million/yr mold-related business. This person will have full responsibility for the technical operations of our 7 Nissei molding lines. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a $30M Electro-Plating Business Unit. The person successful in this role will lead continuous improvement efforts and identify ways to improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce scrap and gold usage.

The Plating Production Manager can expect to manage 22 plating lines utilizing reel-to-reel, barrel, and selective-cell technology, 4 supervising managers, and nearly 100 plating operators that produce approximately 1 billion plated pins per month. This is a highly visible role requiring decisions that have a global production impact. Growth opportunities are imminent as we expand plating operations in our China and Costa Rica facilities.

OBJECTIVE:

  • Over the course of the first 12 months, develop a systematic approach for creating continuity between 12 hour shifts.

PERFORMANCE TASKS:

  • Utilize management experience to mentor, develop, and provide feedback for plating supervisors and operators
  • Proactively plan capacity and lead continuous improvement efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years+ of OEM sales experience in a technical industry required
  • Component sales experience a plus
  • ME or EE degree a plus
