Samtec has expanded its Micro Card socket interface line with PCI Express sockets (PCIE Series) that support one, four, eight, and sixteen PCI Express links. Sockets are available for surface mounting to the board for perpendicular card interfaces and edge-mounting to the board for co-planar card interfaces. These 1mm (.0347”) pitch sockets have industry standard latching features for rugged applications that require retention clips on the boards.
Samtec’s full line of Micro Card interfaces includes high speed riser card systems (Rise Up® RU8 Series), Serial ATA interfaces (SAL1 Series), transceiver interfaces (MECT Series) as well as a variety of card interfaces on .8mm (.0315”) (HSEC8 Series) and 1mm (.0394”) (MEC1 Series) pitch. Many of these interfaces feature Edge Rate™ contacts designed for signal integrity, superior impedance control, and reduced cross talk in rugged applications.
