Samtec Expands High Speed Q2™ Series Flexibility with New Standard Options and Features

Samtec’s Q2™ second-generation high speed connector system (QMS/QFS Series) options have been expanded with integrated power pins (PC Option), RF connectors (RF option), and retention pins (RT option) for increased unmating force.  Q2™ Series has positive alignment features, edge-mount and right-angle design variations, single-ended and differential signal routing, and optional EMI shielding.

This micro-rugged, high speed system has a 10mm (.394”) or 11mm (.433”) mated height and signal pins on .025” (0,635mm) pitch.  It is available with up to 156 I/Os per connector set in single-ended configuration and up to 64 pairs in a differential pair configuration.

The retention pin option can as much as double the unmating forces in typical applications up to 100 cycles.  Power pins can carry as much as 4.1 amps at 80°C.  The RF option features MCX-scale RF plugs and sockets integrated into the connector.
