Evaluation and Development Kits
AcceleRate® Flyover® SI Evaluation Kits
REF-203425-X.XX-XX
Company: Samtec
As data rates increase, trace length on PCBs decrease. Samtec's high-speed, Flyover® cable assemblies simplify PCB design and limit signal degradation in high data rate applications. The AcceleRate® Flyover® SI Evaluation Kits provide system designers and SI engineers an easy-to-use solution for testing 0.635 mm AcceleRate® Slim Direct Attach Cable Assemblies. The AcceleRate® Flyover® (x8) SI Evaluation Kit (REF-203425-X.XX-XX) routes eight high-speed differential pairs through Precision RF connectors, an AcceleRate® Slim Cable Assembly and AcceleRate® Slim Sockets. The AcceleRate® Flyover® (x16) SI Evaluation Kit (REF-212901-X.XX-XX-XX) routes sixteen high-speed differential pairs through Precision RF connectors, an AcceleRate® Slim Cable Assembly and AcceleRate® Slim Sockets. The AcceleRate® Flyover® SI Evaluation Kits deliver a high-quality system with robust mechanical design. Please contact Samtec's technical experts at [email protected] for additional information.

How is this calculated?
Protocol capability of Samtec connectors results from a comparison of the protocol channel data rate and the Samtec Channel Performance Metric (CPM) per product. The Samtec CPM estimates connector performance in a pre-defined channel as illustrated below.
This channel-based approach factors impairments—such as the crosstalk and reflections—inherent in real-world signal channels. Samtec CPM sums all channel noise sources and then determines the resultant signal to noise ratio in a specific mated connector pair. By its very nature, CPM is a function of channel assumptions made and will vary from application to application. Achieving similar results requires good SI design practice in the system PCB(s) and using Samtec-provided connector breakout regions (BOR).
The ARF6 series has a CPM of 32 Gbps NRZ/64 Gbps PAM4.
ARF6 products are capable of protocols whose channel data rates are less than this CPM.
